Vanilla 1.1.4 is a product of Lussumo. More Information: Documentation, Community Support.
I've uploaded Semiologic 5 RC3, you can grab it at:
http://wp-pro.semiologic.com/bleeding
Fixes include:
* Final sem-wysiwyg/FCKEditor 2.5 version
* Additional sites for bookmark me
* Tweaks to new doc system
The upgrader has not changed since last time, but nonetheless: As with the previous Sem 5 pre-releases, please give the upgrader a shot. Please note that the upload files step can be very long. don't interrupt it.
To spare yourself a long upload if you're still running an alpha or a beta, you can upload the upgrader files only via:
* wp-content/plugins/semiologic/inc
* wp-content/themes/semiologic/inc
* wp-content/themes/semiologic/wizards
and then try wizard / upgrade directly.
Mike
PS: don't forget to disable non-Semiologic Pro plugins before upgrading -- at least two users got blank screens because of this. Make sure you check with the author's site and upgrade to a version that is Wordpress 2.3 compatible.
PPS: The next webinar and release date are scheduled to occur during the early part of next week.
PPPS: Note that you can grab the latest docs update at any time by saving your API key. A large effort is being made this weekend to get these completed.
Thanks Mike!
To all: For information, the admin area's docs in Sem 5 are nearing completion. After upgrading to RC3 (I've tweaked a couple of things in there since Wednesday), be sure to browse Presentation / API Key and to save your API Key. Do the same at some point on Sunday. This will trigger a docs update. Admin page documentation (at times very extensive) will be available on almost every admin by the end of the WE.

Sadly, in IE I still get a page cannot be displayed error and in FF the browser asks me how I want to open admin.php, both at the upgrade step.
This time I copied the upgrader files from the RC3 version to make sure my upgrader was up to date.

@ Jeff, can you send your site details to support at semiologic.com so we can take a look?
@Bob, are you saying the TinyMCE editor doesn't appear either? Can you also send your site details to support?
M
Mike,
Sending site details now.
Jeff
Your url and wp admin name and password.
Have you tried flushing your browser cache?
M
Mike,
Just want to be sure you got my email. In it I describe that my site went down on IE upon trying to upgrade again using the auto install on a different computer.
Now my site content in completely gone, everything, except I CAN see the admin bar and can log in and the theme is there, just no text anywhere. In FF, all seems to be fine except it did not upgrade me to 5.0 RC3.
Jeff
Sent via email to support but placed here in case this happens to others:
As mentioned previously, upon trying a second time to upgrade, I caused my site to act poorly for IE. The site displayed no text anywhere, just the general coloration of the skin I am using.
So as this is a new production site, I went ahead and uploaded RC3 manually thinking this was the problem.
That did not correct the situation.
So for grins I left the custom.css and other custom files for the menu I am using in the skin’s folder and changed skins. The site worked except that it was not formatted nicely. I put my custom.css in that skin’s folder and the same thing happened, all the text went away, just the coloration of the skin remained. I tried a third skin, same behavior. I tried on the faded blue and green jeans then the minimalist skin, all behaved the same. So there is something not working with my custom.css now that was working before.
Here is my current custom.css:
/*
##
## Column Widths
##
*/
.custom #ext_wrapper
{
width: 1027px;
}
.custom #wrapper
{
width: 1027px;
}
.custom #main
{
width: 829px;
}
/*
##
## Remove Dates From Archive Listings
##
*/
.archive_listing h3
{
display: none;
}
/*
##
## Do Not Display Silo Links
##
*/
#silo-pages
{
display: none;
}
This problem does not happen when using FF.
There seems to be a conflict between the custom.css and something else in IE only.
Any thoughts?
I have narrowed the problem down to a specific action in my custom.css file. Only when I add this to my code:
/*
##
## Do Not Display Silo Links
##
*/
#silo-pages
{
display: none;
}
does my page go blank in IE. In FF everything is fine. So IE is overlooking the "#silo-pages" part and is applying "display: none;" to everything.
What gives?
Jeff
OK, more trial and error and I have a work around but there is still something fishy.
I had the silo widget in the header area so the serps would run across that code earlier in the visit. I noticed in IE when I displayed it there, there was an extra "dot" before the menu items in IE only so I moved the silo widget to the sidebar and everything works fine as I need.
So, I must assume in 5.0 RC3 there is something going on with the code that is putting an extra something somewhere causing this to happen.
But for now, all is well.
:)
Jeff
To those who got upgrade problems, please send the site details to denis at mesoconcepts dot com. I'll be online all afternoon, catching up with emails and then finishing to work on RC4.

@Steve:
perhaps you have something built into the code not to upgrade to "bleeding edge" That is one thing I thought you might have put in as a safeguard so people will not do it on "Production Sites"
there actually is a warning. but your comment prompted me to insist on the warning a lot more. :)
@mitch: please send me a backup of your database. Normally, your ad units get upgraded in their WSA format, meaning inline ads unit still work. I may have missed something though.
D.
@PPLPro: if you intend to change host, the best will be to transfer the site first, and then to upgrade. Don't forget to ask the vas if you need assistance.
closing this thread, I've just uploaded v.5 RC4
