This forum is growing very fast, so fast that questions and answers sometimes get lost. The following is not meant to be critical, but is intended to help you get the information you are searching for.

If you have a question for the forum, please don't tack it at the end of an existing topic. If your first statement is " I don't know whether this belongs here or not", it is probably in the wrong place.

Start a new discussion. The means for doing so is the clearly marked statement at the top left in RED: "Start a new discussion". The reasons you should do this are many.

It allows the uninterupted discussion of the problem at hand. An off topic question interjected within a discussion disrupts the flow, and is unfair to the original poster.

It allows your problem to be seen, not hidden within another topic. If it is not seen, it will not be answered. Perhaps not even read by the person who has the answer.

It allows you to find the responses to your question. Think of how will you find the answer to your question if it is buried within someone else's discussion?

This is not directed toward anyone in particular, just a reminder to those who are seeking answers. I must admit that I have make this mistake myself. If you do this by mistake, you can always correct it. Simply go to your old post and delete it - If you can find it :)

Then click "start a new discussion" and re-enter your question. Its that easy

Thank you Larry for writing this.

I completely agree with Larry. It is difficult to track some of the discussions when multiple topics are discussed in the same message. If I my add to Larry's tips:

    1) Please use the search capability of this forum before posting. In a lot of cases, the question has been asked before. Having said that, there is a quirk to searching. The default is Topic. Unfortunately this only searches Topic Titles. Select Comments for the greatest chance of finding your search criteria.

    2) If requesting assistance for a specific problem with the software (theme, plugin, etc), please indicate what version of Semiologic Pro you are using. Sometimes your problem is fixed is a later release.

    3) Please use this forum rather than the support email if you are seeking help with "how to", "how do I...", etc type of questions. We've developed quite a knowledge user base now that may be able to get you an answer quicker than Denis or I could. As you can imagine, as the user population grows, users with site problems, sites down, bugs, etc will get higher priority in the support emails. So please use the forums as a first line of support.

    Mike
