    Hey there,

    Quick question, I am keen to do some silo structuring as this seems to be a great way to creat top listings in Google et. al.

    Here is what I need to do, and I was going to find out if it is possible with semiologic pro.

    I will use fruit as an example

    On the front I would need a menu structure (either on the top/side/bottom does not matter really)

    ie apples, oranges, banana's

    These could easily be catagories...

    Each of the catagories would be broken down into sub catagories...

    ie. Apples -> Granny Smith, Delicious, Green cooking
    Oranges -> valencia, calafornian, juicing....

    You get the idea..

    BUT! in each of the "silos" or catagories I can only have the subcatagories turning up on the side that belong to that catagory, *and* I do not want the other main catagories to be listed.

    So to explain I need to have each catagory have it's own menu of subcatagories, and each catagory will have a different one.

    I hope that made sense...

    Would I have to creat menus for each catagory, and if that is possible how would I do it?

    Any help is greatfully appreciated.

    Hi George,

    The underlying idea behind silos is to put your site in phase with Google's indexing algorithm by increasing the density of keyword dense pages within your page aggregates. You can achieve this in one of two ways.

    The first is to decrease the number of irrelevant outgoing links from a page aggregate. This is what you describe in the thread you're opening, and there's no easy means to do this that I'm aware of. Simply because it's a huge mess to actually maintain it.

    The second is to increase the number of relevang incoming links into a page aggregate. This has been built into the Semiologic Pro Package since its very first release.
