I am not sure how I did it but somehow I broke my RSS feed and I don't see any easy way to fix it. Is there a function withing WP and the Semio admin section to reset and get the RSS feed working again?

    Check it out http://EasyDietandHealth.com/feed

It was working about a week ago...but now it shows nothing in the feed itself...any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Keith

Is wordpress installed in the site root or in a subdirectory such as /wordpress or /blog?

I'm experiencing the same issue with the blog which I upgraded but the one Installed with 5.5.RC3 is fine.

Both are installed in the root directory.

Anyone able to shed any light?

    Hi Denis,

I went through the painstaking process of deactivating and then reacativating each plugin and the problem deffinately appears to be mediacaster - at least with my blog. The domain feed i.e. trishjones.com/feed/ worked fine until I activated mediacaster. I tried it several more times and even when I got feedburner to display the feed, going into feedburner itself to make any changes, brought up this error message only when mediacaster was activated:

"The URL you entered does not appear to be a valid feed. We encountered the following problem: Error on line 135: The entity "Acirc" was referenced, but not declared."

It would be interesting if other people experiencing this could try ... deactivate both feedburner and mediacaster and see if the feed works okay. Reactivate feedburner and then see if you get errors once mediacaster is again activated.

Denis could you give an update on this since mediacaster is naturally an important plugin.

    Thanks,

    Trish

I am having the same problem, with the white space in front of my feed on several of my blogs... actually close to half of them, if not more...

I am also using FeedBurner... I for the life of me cannot tell why some are working and some aren't?

they will pass the feed validator for a standard XML feed, but the minute I throw the feed at the feedburner XML validator it fails for white space at the beginning of the feed...

I have absolutely no idea how to fix it?

I'm having the same problem. I read the previous posts here and tried deactivating Mediacaster as well as Feedburner but when I put www.chicagoweddingphotographersite.com/feed into Google Reader, I get the message "Information is temporarily unavailable". When I tried to add the same address to Feedburner, I go the message "We could not find a valid feed at that address."

yeah, the weird thing is when I de-activate the feedburner plugin, the feed works fine at www.domain.com/feed/ and it will even pass validation at feedvalidator.org...

When I reactivate feedburner, it fails, and feedvalidator.org still says it is okay for an RSS feed, but when I try to validate it as a feedburner RSS feed, it fails...

I have no idea what is causing it, I have deactivated tons of plugins, and it is still jacked up on several of my blogs...

so areyou saying it is the feedburner plugin or the mediacaster plugin causing the problem?

I'm not sure, cause I disable them both and the feed does validate, but when I turn on feedburner, the feed still validates as a standard RSS feed, but when I use the validator to see if it is a valid feedburner feed, it fails...

    Not sure why?

Is there a fix for this. I tried all the suggestions above and my feed is still broken. Feedburner reorts it as a an invalid feed:

    This feed does not validate.

After much troubleshooting, we found the culprit... It was the translator pro plugin from PLRPRO... it actually never worked for us in the first place, and we just removed the widget that linked to it... instead we needed to actually disable it in the plugin section...

That is what did it for us... We actually just figured this out...

Charles, I would try turning off EVERY single plugin, deactivate all of them...

See if it works, if it still doesn't work, it is something wrong with the actual code itself, you'll never know unless you "turn off" every plugin the site has!

Once you have determined if it is a plugin or actual code you can then venture in the correct direction.

If it is a plugin, only turn on the ones you really need, one by one... each time verify if your RSS feed is working properly.

Chances are you will find the culprit (if it is a plugin) and from there you can get it working right.

For us it was the translator pro plugin from PLRPRO that was causing the problems, so we turned it off on all our sites...

    Hope that helps!
