Vanilla 1.1.5a is a product of Lussumo. More Information: Documentation, Community Support.
My dev site is up and running for those who are interested in peeking at the animal without installing it on their site:
Note that some features on the above site are disabled for security reasons: plugin screen, users screen, ability to post unfiltered html, and so on. Also, if you peek into the dev site, please be so kind to not change its url or the test user's password.
Please report any bug you spot on my dev site or on your own site in this thread.
Thanks!
Denis
@george: I'm uploading a new zip to fix this, thanks for highlighting the 404 issue!
D.
beta-5 is online
D.
nope, you add widgets as necessary.
there's going to be a beta-6 this evening, btw, I'm working on upgrading semiologic.com and fixing bugs as I find them.
D.
lol, I was wondering, recently what could possibly be causing the dev site to output pages in a minute. I've found the culprit upon trying the pages widget and the links widget on the same page:
Load: 7 queries - 0.158 seconds
Query: 11 queries - 0.180 seconds
Display: 257 queries - 22.264 seconds
woot! that is soooo retarded. :D
D.
@George: add a text widget, and maybe a tag cloud or the archives widget or the silo map widget, etc. in the 404 "sidebar".
D.
@Paul: regarding your upload issue, could it related to mod_security?
@All: I've just uploaded a beta-6. I've spend the entire day working on performance issues. related widgets, in particular, got a spectacular boost in speed.
D.
@Paul: btw, regarding Dreamhost, have you noticed the VPS functionality? Best I know, what they've set up is quite unique in the industry. I'm not aware of any other host that lets you choose the how large your VPS should be with a slider. :)
D.
mmm, I'm going to upload a beta-7 in a sec, the one I just uploaded doesn't autoinstall the semiologic theme on new site, and I've committed a few more WP 2.5 bug fixes.
D.
beta-7 is online. it restores the correct autoinstall, and includes all of the WP 2.5 bug fixes from trac, plus a couple more.
D.
@Paul: any odds your upload issue is related to any of the following?
likely mod_security related, then...
D.
I've just updated the beta, to beta-8. Changes since last update are numerous, but mostly of interest to those who are upgrading sites. Basically, I've been using backups from semiologic.com to weed out all sorts of bugs that remained in the upgrade scripts.
D.
@Keith: thanks for reporting it, I'll upload an update in a bit.
@Alan: I suspect the upload went wrong. can you try reinstalling from scratch, using the new bleeding edge zip after I uploading it in a bit?
D.
beta-9 is online. many fixes made it in this one. some wp bug fixes, many little things I've identified while working on semiologic.com, the 404 error handler works better still, and so do searches.
I've also added a completely rewritten Search Reloaded plugin, which is delivering results that are more relevant than ever.
D.
Denis,
Just upgraded to 5.5 about 3 hours ago. I'm seeing some Template weirdness. On the Home page, the Title is in a much smaller font and a different color. On any individual post page it shows up correctly.
Home: http://hypnosismarketingtips.com
Post page: http://hypnosismarketingtips.com/resources
I'm using the Color Block Blue by Techie Coach.
Thanks,
Craig
@ shokthx: should be fixed in beta-10.
personally, I mostly see the tag cloud widget as something a 404 page, e.g. www.semiologic.com/404-test/ (I've yet to enter any tags, but it's in there). in that location (the 404 error panel), it'll also show when a search returns nothing, e.g. www.semiologic.com?s=jwieojfew
another good usage for it could be as an inline widget in an archives page, e.g. www.semiologic.com/archives (it's not present, but it could be reasonably added)
in any event, it's one of the built-in WP widgets, and I'm a little nervous to try to override it in this version. you could readily add more of them you could readily download a tag clouds widget from the plugin database.
@E. J.: can you elaborate please, I'm not entirely sure what you mean. also, which browser are you using?
@Craig: good catch. fix coming right up
@Paul: use in a static page. here's what the silo map outputs: http://www.semiologic.com/site-map/. when I'll bother to enter a description, each item will have a few lines to say what it's about. the main difference with the pages widget is that this one uses the exclude option shared by other widgets.
