I've seen this error before and have always been able to fix it by cleaning up the HTML and removing sneaky <div> tags. Unfortunately, I can't find any sneaky code this time. On posts or pages.
Basically, I'm running Semiologic on a WP 2.3-something (the latest before 2.5) and the sidebars in the site are dropping down below the posts and pages. It makes for a VERY long page.
Another strange phenomena with this is that it only happens in IE6. I view the site on Firefox, Safari, or IE7 and it looks just fine.
Another problem is that I don't actually have IE6 so I'm relying on others to tell me what they're seeing, which makes diagnosing and correcting the problem a huge challenge.

Does anyone have any suggestions for resolving this problem?
An image or text box that over runs thr limits of its container will cause the same thing. Find the post or widget that causes the problem, then edit that item. Is is difficult when you don't have IE6
Your site looks fine here, and there is no obvious image or textbox problems.
I've checked all the sidebar widgets and there isn't anything that should be overlapping the limits of the container. I've also gone through all of the pages/posts to see if there are any extraneous HTML causing the problem, but couldn't find any.
Thanks for the suggestions Larry, but it doesn't seem to have resolved the issue.
Mike this is happening to me in RC3, here is an answer I put on the 5.5 thread
@Mike the original size of the header was 972x67 since I was at work I just deleted it...when I got home and I added a smaller header 770x53 it still breaks in IE 6 When I delete the header graphic completely it works fine in IE6, this is really related to layouts with the external sidebar for me

Ext sidebar was "dropping" to the bottom of the page in IE6. Was able to fix it by first removing all the content in the sidebar, the problem went away. I added in items one at a time until it "broke", then made some adjustments. Basically, Larry is spot on. IE6 is unique in deciding what doesn't fit.
In short, I had a content formatted at 190px wide and had to take it all the way down to 180pixels wide. Then no problem in IE6, and still looked okay in all the other browsers.
On a side note, I run Windows 2000 Professional on my desktop (which has been stable for years) and MS won't let that OS upgrade to IE7. I do use firefox mostly, but it's not always a matter of not wanting to upgrade, sometimes you can't. I'm not moving to another OS until a absolutely must. :-)
I ran Windows 2000 Professional for years, The move to XP was painless and much more stable. You might consider upgrading while it is still available. Vista is another story.
