Can you give me a fool proof clear way to describe to an outsourcer what the standards are for a custom header that I can use on a SemPro blog? For example, how do you specify the size it should be? What file format is preferable? That kind of thing.

Design>>Header tells you that the available file formats are (jpg, png, gif, swf).
The width should be the width of the layout that you choose from Design>>Layout i.e. either 590 or 770. The height is not limited and will self adjust.

That helps. I was also thinking that someone who is a designer would know how they like requests submitted.

Thanks. I think I need the 970. I was going to set it up wide with the two internal sidebars.

There is no request to submit.
You just upload your image from Design>>Header>>Browse to the image on your PC and hit Update Options.

Thanks Bravos. What I was talking about is the description of deliverables that I would give to a designer. I am outsourcing the job of creating a header for a blog.
I wanted to be clear about what the image should look like when he delivers it.

you are correct with 2 internals it would be 970, with 2 internals and an ext sidebar would make it 770

depending on what you do, header would always be one of three different size widths, 970, 770, or 590

I get the impression that you may be thinking this is harder than it really is.
All you need is to tell the designer the width you want. You have the available formats in an earlier post.

If you want to resize an existing image that you like but don't know anything about graphics (like me) then this tool will resize it for you - and at only $9.97 it's pretty cheap.
