I have just installed the Semiologic 5.0.1 theme on a new blog, and then tried to install Fuzzy Widgets when I got the warning message about standard WP widgets. After activating the plugin, I noticed the upgrade message, so selected auto upgrade, and then tried to activate.
The result was the following error message. Fatal error: Cannot redeclare register_sidebars() (previously declared in /home/gorge/public_html/blog/wp-includes/widgets.php:13) in /home/gorge/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/widgets/widgets.php on line 22
Is the solution the same as the other fatal messages I have seen on the forum? Uninstall everything and start again?
Hi Mike_K, Thanks for your help. Deleted the file and then reloaded the widgets. Still have some problems. Uploaded the new version of the sidebar (following the instruction to "Download version 1.2.1.20070210b here or upgrade automatically") but still get the message that "a new version is available; download etc".
In addition, when I add the Fuzzy Widgets for "recent posts", I get the following text displayed at the top of the widget "%BEG_OF_TITLE%Recent Posts%END_OF_TITLE%(obviously it is supposed to display the title, but there is some problem somewhere).
Sorry to ask what are obviously Newbie questions, but my ignorance of how to fix these problems is almost total, and I'd appreciate any help you can provide.
Cheers
