I'm having a dandy time with the new Semio, so I've decided to reach out and see if I can get some help...

    1. Does the static front page with 'home' slug and blog (with 'blog' slug) still exist?

    2. The RSS feed seems to now have errors. In both IE and Firefox, I'm told that the error is on line one, character 4.

    3. Does the auto YouTube intergration still exist?

    Thanks,

    Keith

    Keith,

    1. Set up 2 pages you want to be your static front and blog page first (blog page can now be any slug/title you want, like "news" for example) then go to settings/reading and set those pages as you wish.

    2. not sure

    3. I am not at all convinced that the new editor is better than the old one, which was why I heard Denis promote the change I seem to recall. There seems to be overall less functionality with this one, and perhaps the youtube integration is one of the things we lost, I have not seen it either yet, though I am still looking.

    1) Read this http://forum.semiologic.com/discussion/3696/sitecomarticles-rather-than-sitecomblog/#Item_19
    2) Don't know.
    3) There is an add media in the editor choose video and enter your vid's url.

    Best of luck

    Paul,

I looked there but did not see an obvious way to post youtube videos, I miss something?

    Last question...

I have a formatted sales page (graphics and all) that I would like to use as the static home page (and not outside of Wordpress). Is there a way to incorporate this into the site while keeping all graphics and formatting in tact?

Just to clarify, did you make the page in site as a page using semi-pro's sales page template? If so just select that page as your home page under settings/reading.

Ok, so that wasn't my last question...

    1. Followed advice, on blog page I get '404 Error: Not Found!' under the page title.
    Ex: http://www.acupuncturesecrets.com/blog

    2. Where are custom slugs now entered? Don't see a place for that...

    Thanks,

    Keith

Yes, I did make it using the sales page template, but I'm using a custom.css file. That keeps screwing things up. I think I will just using a standard theme and use my header... will keep site consistant and make things much easier.

    @ Jeff

above the widgets dropdown i"m using the mediacaster button thats opens and says enter a url I'm putting the whole youtube url in.

I made a mistake in my first reply stating that it was the add media.

    @ keith

How does it keep screwing things up?

Make sure you go thru your widgets, maybe some of them are enabled for the sales letter when they shouldn't be.

I will check... right now, it keeps changing the fonts (size, color, and type) from the original letter.

    Keith.

The visual editor tends to think it knows what you want and changes all kinds of stuff, can you post the html in the html editor and save it without going to the visual editor?

    I fixed the 404 error...

On the sales page template, how does one go about changing the background color?

Yes, even using the html directly, it still changed the fonts. I've changed templates (no longer using the custom.css) and everything seems to be coming together.
