    Hi There,

I am setting up a wordpress blog with sem pro. And the first thing I noticed is that all the tutorials have a completlly different admin interface that the current version of wordpress.

There are a bunch of things missing like:

    1. The footer tab is missing
    2. Nav Menus is missing

    3. I Can't edit these widgets:
    a.Entry Header:
    b. Entry content
    c. Entry Tags
    d. Entry categories
    e. Entry Actions
    f. Related widget
    g. Entry comments
    i. Next/Previous Post:
    j. Footer:
    4. in presentation tab: the menus tab is missing. How do I get menus tab?

I tryed to install the 2.3.3 version. but it doesn't let me log into the admin area. and makes me automatically update to the latest version.

Any help from you would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    David

yes you are right... I'm new user of Semiologic..brought yesterday..but I can notice the same missing part's as you.
I need to get semiologic up on numerous domains..but with this state of plugin..the better thing would be to request refund and look to something other stable and better supported .... sorry to tell this

    Hi Mike,

The 3 main things I can’t find with the new wordpress version:

    1. Under “Write Tab  Page Tab”: The “Page Slug” tab is missing. Does anyone know how to assign page slug now?

    2. In the older version under the “Presntation Tab” The footer option where you could put in extra footer content is gone. How do I get to the “Footer Tab”?

    3. How do I get to “Nav Menus” Tab? It used to be in the presentation tab in the older version.

I also emailed you so you can give the other version

    Thanks,

    David

    2. In the Footer widget directly now.

    3. Under Header: Nav Menus widget.

    Hi David,

I struggled to find the page slug too, but it's seated between the Title box and the body text box.

Just as a note of caution, whereas the slug used to be update only upon publishing or saving, it now gets updated almost immediately so if you change the title before you publish your post or page, ensure you edit the slug.

    Best,

    Trish

sem pro 5.5 wp 2.5.1. where is the documentation?

i need to understand a bit more about the clone function, i do understand that it takes a copy of the existing blog but where is the output stored and how do you use it to clone that site on another domain?

    One other thing David,

It really would be a shame to throw in the towel on Semiologic at this stage. I've been using Sem Pro since Feb 2006 and whilst it can take some getting used to, it's only because most things are already set up for you. If you use a standard wordpress theme, you will need to do a lot more coding and even changing the header can't be done with a click of a few buttons.

    Hope you get sorted though.

    Hi Trish,

Thanks for your advice. But I still can't find the page slug.

The options I see under "page" tab is:
    Title box
    Page text box
    Tags tab
    Mediacaster
    and advanced Options

But I don't see Page slug anywhere.

Am I missing a plugin or something?

    David,

Have the pages you want for your blog location and static front page created FIRST, then go do [settings > reading] and set it up. Really a very cool feature, because your blog does not have to reside at /blog anymore, can be /news or anything else you want.
