    Hello Everyone,

One again, I have a probably obvious question, but I cannot get the top Header Navigation Links to work right. I have the links created via the Widget, and they show up in the nav bar, but do not link anywhere.

I just uploaded Semio-Pro 5.5, so I think it is the latest version.

Can someone please point me to Documentation on exactly how to set these up? The older version had a straight forward and easy to grok place to put the name of the link and the URL in the same place. I can not find a way to do this.

Thanks for any help you can give.

    Take Care,
    David

    Referring to images attached:

    1. Choose Header from the drop down menu and click "show"
    2. In the list of widgets on the left, click "Add" on the Nav Menu widget.
    3. Now in the Header group upper right, you will see Header: Nav Menu, click on edit to the right.
    4. In the drop down menu that opens, choose an existing page already on your site, once chosen you can rename the link that will show up in the menu to whatever you want. You can also pick "Url" from the drop down, this allows you to add a URL to anywhere you want in the nave menu, and call it whatever you want in the menu. Url will be the default link title, but you can change it to whatever you want. Once you have selected what you want to add, click the "+" button and the link will appear below.
    5. Once you have added all the links you want, in the lower left corner, find the "Change" button and click on it. (I would like it if this button read "Save Changes" to be more clear)
    6. Clicking "Change" as outlined in 5 above will reveal the "Save Changes" button, click on it.

(Images 4, 5, and 6 on the next post.)

That should do it. Actually, at least for me, understanding this way to do it, I like it much better than before.

    Jeff,

Thank you very much for your reply. But, I just don't get it. I DO have the feeling that once I do, it will make total sense and I might even like this system better than what right now appears to be the brain dead simple system from the old version of SemPro. Anyway ...

I just do not understand Point #4 in your message. On my very first attempt yesterday, before posting this thread, I was able to use the Header: Nav Menu widget to enter the Link Text I wanted in the order I wanted into the published Nav menu, and they looked fine, but they were not linked to anything. OR, I could get the actual URLs to show up in the published Nav menu, but as you can imagine, that takes a LOT of space. OR, I could get the Page Title to show up in the published Nav menu, also taking a lot of space.

So, I can get the link titles to show up on the published page without being linked at all, OR, I can get a hyper-linked URL to show up in the Nav menu. But in the Header: Nav Menu widget box, I can enter the link text I want, OR I can enter a URL, OR I can get the page title, but I do not seem to be able to select a Page, enter a URL, and then put the link text in. I have tried starting over again several times, deleting everything then clicking in many different patterns in the Item selection box, to no avail.

When I selected *Url* in the Item menu, and pressed the + sign, I WAS able to get a new box to appear with TWO text entry fields, but without the -->[blue linked text] at the bottom of the box. Whereas when I selected other options in the Item menu, there would be one text field with a -->[hyper-linked page title] underneath.

Also, I thought that on the Manage-->Page page, there was a bread-crumb like link text which were, when I last saw them, the correct URLs. But I can no longer find those, either.

So, I apologize for being a bit dense here, but I just cannot seem to find the boxes I am looking for to give me the spaces I needed to enter everything I think I need. I guess I need a more step-by-step breakdown of Point #4 in your 1st response, if that would not be too much trouble.

And where are those More Info items that I thought were supposed to be providing more documentation on each page?

    Again, thanks for your help.
    Take Care,
    David
