    All,

With SLP 5.5, Denis dropped the previous sem-wysiwyg editor which used FCKEditor in favor of the TinyMCE editor included with WordPress 2.5 as default. Based on thread sin this forum, I am questioning if this was the correct choice. Can you provide me some feedback on TinyMCE vs. FCKEditor? Should we include both options? TinyMCE is indeed better? What were you thinking..I loved FCKEditor?

    Let us know.

I was happy with the previous editor and the new one is good as well, I did like the way the previous editor held photos, make makeing month folders easy for pics ect.
Last week I was able to get the spellcheck to work but this week I keep getting an error msg.

    Ho hum

    Hi Mike.

If possible, including both choices would make most sense
because it would help those in favor of either :).

    Mike,

What I have found is that there are some media plugins that count on the stock player, TinyMCE. Even though I liked FCK better than MCE, if we can improve on MCE and be able to incorporate the functionality of some plugins that use MCE, I guess I would be in favor of that. For example, I am watching a plugin that beautifully incorporates Highslide into the MCE editor. Highslide as you might know is an amazing image handler. The plugin places a tick box in the MCE pop up to use it or not. I am guessing that if I as using FCK, I would not have that functionality.

If you can make it where you can use both, of course that would be great, and even better if it could be chosen independently at individual posts or pages and not site wide.

There is an ImageManager for TinyMCE. Should we add that in. It supports lightbox.

    Mike,
if there is an option to add both then I think it's definitely worth a RC release to see how it sits with different configurations . . and it there is an imagemanager for tinymce then that too has got to be worth a shot.

I do not know if you have every looked at Highslide, but lighbox is nothing compared to Highslide, I suppose lighbox is a step in the right direction, but Highslide is amazing.

I'm just saying that the ImageManager plugin for TinyMCE has the image tagging for lightbox support. I don't know what highslide needs.

That plugin above for Highslide integration nicely integrates Highslide into TinyMCE. Currently, all it does is the single image expanding, with subtitles. The next thing the plugin developer is working on is a gallery function, multiple galleries on the same page. Until his plugin does this, I have been meaning to try the lightbox plugin, but I am striving for Highslide with all its capabilities.
