    Ray,

    I have installed the plugin and it is working for me.

    And I do not have any credits for the plugin designer showing.

    I am not sure what could be the matter.

    How many categories do you have and how many of those have posts in them?

    One the page where you include the dd sitemap tag, try enclosing it between <div> tags. Also try adding a <br /> on the first line.

    <br /> appears on the first line without me putting it there and the <div> tags mess up the layout of the page and NO sitemap.
    Could the problem be anything to do with Permalinks?

    Still looking for a fix

    thanks

    I am running out the door, can't look into this right now, BUT, I seem to recall maybe having to disable the WYSIWYG editor to install this code, OR do it within the code editor of the WYSIWYG editor, try some variations there, I will look further later today.

    I have deactivated the WYSIWYG editor and tried but still no sitemap.
    Can sminc tell me exactly what you have got written in the code editor - mine seems to add things like <p> and <br /> without me putting it in.

    thanks

    Ray,

    When you enter the sitemap tags you need to do it in Source mode, not the WYSIWIG mode. (Click source toolbar button, enter code, save page.

    I have this working fine on my site. This is what I use:

    <br />
    <!-- ddsitemapgen -->

    Yep, now that I have dad time to get in there this evening, I have exactly what Mike has, and I put it there via the source code editor as Mike suggested.

    sminv and mike ... thanks, I have tried to have the same as you but no luck.
    Reading the comments on the dd sitemap generator site it seems that the latest version was updated to work with wordpress 2.1 but probably now doesn't work with previous versions of wordpress.
    I think I will wait until Denis ships the update for 2.1 and then try again .

    regards

    Ray,

    When you created the page, did you give is a slug? (sitemap for example). In Options->DDSitemapGen, make sure you enter that same page slug.

    The dd sitemap generator site http://www.dagondesign.com/articles/sitemap-generator-plugin-for-wordpress/ has now got the pre WP 2.1 version available for downloading. This works for me until I upgrade to WP 2.1.
    Thanks for all help

    sminc - I haven't upgraded to WP2.1 yet. There is an amended version of the Generator text for use with WP2.1 also.

    OK, good, when Denis takes his version with 2.1 included out of beta and I upgrade, I will go fetch the new plugin, thanks for the information.

    You can install the 2.7.1 version of ddsitemapgen now. It works for both WP 2.0 and 2.1.

    With WP 2.5.1 and (as of now) SP 5.5 RC3, you have the google sitemap generator. I am guessing this is a totally machine language tool not for human eyes. Would it be appropriate to install the dd-sitemap on a page for a visual sitemap?

    I thought thats what the silo map widget was for.

    I believe the silo maps is just pages, right? The dd-sitemap has all pages and posts if you want and the ability to have a link to the machine generated xml sitemap by the google sitemap generator.

    I would try and compare but I do not know how to install the silo map plugin. I added it to the inline widgets but how do I get it to display on the sitemap page?

    Maybe I will use both of them, the silo to display pages in silo structure then dd-sitemap for posts and the xml link.

    You create a new page, I named mine site map with the slug /site-map/ then added the silo map to the page using it as an inline widget. Sort of just replicated what denis did

    For Sem 5.5, you add the Silo Map widget to the inline widget context. Then in your post/page editor you will have Silo Map as an available inline widget. You select it for the top Silo page.
